  • This image is from my gold botanical series with gold acrylic paint on mountboard, with a mix of acrylic and waterproof ink. There is a spectacular avenue of lime and chestnut trees in Bushy Park, one of the Royal Parks, and this image was taken from a photograph I took there. I love the shape of the seed heads sheltered under the protective wing of the leave overhead, the seeds had taken on the look of metal copper angular balls, that fascinated me, they were full of potential and expectation, heavy with promise of life. The green copper works well against the gold background, with the suggestion of the lime leaf behind.
